Unlike other "mass produced" re-manufactured torque converters, Diamond T technicians keep all of the original parts together during the re-manufacturing process to assure a matched set of components. Other re-manufacturers disassemble hundreds of torque converters and mix all of the parts in large bins. Keeping the parts together results in improved quality. All parts are inspected thoroughly and any marginal parts are replaced. They take the TIME to build quality into each and every Torque Converter. Many other companies do not measure the thickness of the housing and when they machine the surface it makes the metal too thin and leads to early failure. If your housing is less than the OEM specs, they replace it with a new one. The torque converters are precision balanced with a computerized balancer. Only the best clutch materials are used. The torque converters are pre-charged with transmission fluid. This helps to prevent rust on the internal components leading to early failure in case it is exposed to any humidity before installation. Quality testing is performed on each and every Torque Converter before it leaves the facility.

Core Details:

• An $300 core charge will be added to your shopping cart unless you elect to send your cores in first.
• If you select sending cores in first, we will not process your order until your cores have arrived. There will be a 5% cancellation fee if you decide to cancel your order before it is shipped.
• If you select to NOT send cores in first (pay the core charge) your order will be processed right away and you can send your core to receive a refund for the core amount. Cores must be received within 60 days of when your product was shipped. After 60 days there will be a late fee of 10% per month deducted from the core value.


Lifetime warranty will be null and void if repair or replacement is required because of improper installation, accident, physical and, or, neglect, misuse or any other cause other than the ordinary and intended use for which the Product was designed, or if the Product has been dismantled, altered and, or, repaired by the customer or any third party. Warranty is for manufacturer defect only and covers replacement of the convertor with another like Diamond T Converter. No labor or additional parts coverage.


Upgraded Smart-Tech® Converter Clutch Info:

Captive clutch failure in the Ford 6R140 is a chronic problem that is difficult to address with stock components or traditional methods. The Sonnax Smart-Tech converter clutch kit’s upgraded components significantly improve 6R140 durability.

Unlike most lockup converters, the 6R140 clutch does not engage the front cover — it moves away from the engine block and engages a stamped, steel backing plate, which is relatively thin and prone to flex.

Another weak point is the OE clutch, which is held together by a set of small, weak leaf springs. These springs are often broken or on the verge of breaking, causing the OE steel clutch plates to break loose and gouge the cover splines. Clutch failure occurs when damage and debris become severe, a particularly frequent issue in heavy-duty trucks that put massive stress on converter components.
